As fuel scarcity continues to bite hard in most cities across Nigeria, hundreds of motorists looked stranded in the Garden City of Port Harcourt as most of the filling stations in the city centre are locked up in keys as at today, February 21.

Moving around the GRA, Rumuomasi as well as the Rumuokoro axis, black marketers of petroleum products were seen hustling around the areas selling at exorbitant prices ranging from N250 per litre.

As at the time our reporter visited the Rumuagholu area, the only filling station dispensing the product was selling at N120 per litre, as a result, the outlet was deserted, an indication that vehicle users could not afford it.

Meanwhile, Farouk Ahmed, the outgoing executive secretary of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) on February 18, stated that the f of petrol from April 2016
Ahmedalso disclosed that as of February 3, about one month after the commencement of price modulation which led to the review of the pricing template of petrol, the country had saved N2.6bn.

According to him, the decision on the review of the price of PMS will be taken next month by the minister of state for petroleum resources, after due consultations with stakeholders and based on the price of crude oil on the international market.
