– David Moyes speaks about Van Gaal

The Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal, who has another year left on his contract after this season, has been heavily criticised by fans of the Red devils and also in the media, raising speculation about his future at United.

Now it appears that the club shop has joined in the criticism. Van Gaal reportedly tried to quit his post at the club recently.

According to The Sun, he made an offer to the executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward after the 1-0 home defeat by Southampton and the pair talked again the following day.

However, the source reported that Woodward wants the Dutchman to stay until the summer rather than make any changes mid-season.

The former Manchester United manager David Moyes said: “I don’t think Manchester United should become a sacking club. I was disappointed when I lost my job after 10 months.

“Manchester United have always stood for much greater things than sacking their managers regularly. I don’t think they should.”

Speaking about the fifth round of the FA Cup, Moyes noted: “They’ve got a second leg [against Midtjylland] to come. Everybody’s talking about the midweek performance, they can win the second leg and go through.

“They’ve got Shrewsbury in the Cup and can go through. He’s still in the competitions, they’re not out of them. I would expect them to win the Europa League game and we’d all expect them to beat Shrewsbury.”

David Moyes was sacked only after nine months of six-year contract as Manchester United went on to miss out on European football completely for the first time in 25 years.
